Collaboration
In Finland
The staff of Finohta is assisted
by permanent consultants. Our consultants have backgrounds in
clinical medicine, biometrics and statistics. Established in the
spring of 1997, our expert network, consisting of more than 60
persons, covers practically every field in medicine and health
care.
The Advisory Board on
Health Care Technology Assessment, has representatives from
organisations and communities that are relevant to our activities.
The Advisory Board monitors the technology assessment system and
the activities of Finohta and makes proposals to develop them
further. The organisations involved bring their own perspectives to
our operations and promote the dispersal of information about the
assessment results and their viability.
The Scientific Committee on Health Care Technology Assessment
has a broad representation of expertise in many scientific fields.
The Committee participates in selecting the technologies to be
assessed and joins various scientific fields together in order to
promote multidisciplinary assessment activities. The Committee also
gives out expert statements and makes initiatives to develop
Finohta´s operations.
Internationally
International co-operation in assessment research is important
in order to ensure a rapid flow of information and to create
uniform assessment practices. This also makes it possible to avoid
unnecessary overlap in research.
The International Network of Agencies for Health Technology
Assessment (INAHTA), of which also Finohta is a member,
acts as the umbrella organisation for the national assessment
agencies in the public sector.
Finohta is also a member of Health Technology Assessment
International (HTAi), a professional society that brings
together individuals and organizations of the HTA field.
We are also active in European collaboration on HTA. Finohta has
participated in the following projects that have promoted HTA in
Europe: ECHTA (European Collaboration for Health Technology
Assessment), HTA-EUROPE and EUR-ASSESS.
Nordic collaboration is developed within the NOHTA group.
Other key cooperative parties include the
Cochrane Collaboration,
AGREE
Collaboration and Guidelines International Network
(G-I-N). |
